Against the backdrop of the rapid development of smart water management, achieving remote collection and transmission of data from large-diameter water meters is the key to enhancing the efficiency of water supply management and optimizing resource allocation. At present, the mainstream solutions for remote transmission of large-diameter water meters mainly include integrated remote transmission water meter solutions and solutions equipped with RTU data acquisition terminals.

Integrated remote transmission water meter solution

The integrated remote transmission water meter solution takes the highly integrated integrated remote transmission water meter as its core, deeply integrating the flow measurement sensor, signal processing module, wireless communication module and pressure sensor (for some models) inside the water meter. Flow measurement is achieved through high-precision electromagnetic, ultrasonic and other sensors, while pressure data is monitored in real time by the built-in pressure sensor. By using low-power wide area network communication technologies such as NB-IoT and LoRa, the collected flow and pressure data are processed in real time and stably transmitted to the water management platform to achieve remote monitoring and management of the data.

Split-type remote transmission water meter solution

This scheme takes the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) as the core. The RTU collects the flow data of the water meter by connecting the pulse output or analog signal output interface of the water meter. Meanwhile, an external pressure sensor is connected to achieve real-time monitoring of pipeline pressure. The collected data is processed and stored within the RTU. According to the on-site network conditions, communication methods such as GPRS, 4G, and Ethernet are flexibly selected to stably transmit data such as flow and pressure to the remote monitoring center, achieving remote monitoring and control of the water supply network.
